Who's your Momma?: A Mother's Day Gift Guide for Wine Lovers
Mother's day is fast approaching and each year, we scramble around to find last minute gifts. This year, I challenge you to ditch the cards, flowers, tea towels, mugs (or whatever those typical Mother's Day presents are), and find a way to celebrate your mother for the bad-ass matriarch she is 👑.
This day does not have to be a bore. It's another reason to celebrate! So, crack open some bubbly and start planning the perfect Mother's Day! (pro tip: it should involve wine)
The Fun-loving, Care-free Momma
Nothing says fun like bubbly; specifically, bubbly and orange juice. Starting the day with mimosas and brunch, is always a good idea. Why not throw this good-time girl, a truly spectacular Mother's Day brunch - equipped with a "mom-osa" bar (yes, I'm hilarious, thank you ), a hip playlist, and just keep the bubbly flowing.
The Rock 'n' Roll Ma
Treat this babe to a night on the town! Bring her to a concert or grab some drinks somewhere that has live music. Hello, wine bars! 🙋🏻♀️
Don't feel like going out? Make a pitcher of Sangria, fire up the grill and have a backyard potluck with some background tunes.
The Healthy, Fit Mum
Did you know there's such a thing called drunk yoga?! Some cities offer yoga classes where wine is consumed to help you limber up! If you don't have this ✨luxury✨ close-by, maybe seek out some organic or vegan wine club subscriptions!
The Serious, Workaholic Mama Bear
If your Mom is anything like mine, she never stops. This Mother's Day, tell her to sit down and relax. Make it a day for indulging, by heading to a spa with bottomless champagne, or make an at-home spa kit, including a bath tray, bottle of wine, bath bombs, a good book, candles, nail polish, etc.
HRH, Queen Mother
What do you get the woman who has everything? Nothing. You throw a party in her honour. Prepare an elegant and decadent high-tea, with some finger sandwiches, scones, sponge cakes, chocolate-dipped strawberries, tea and punch (preferably spiked). Or, have a full-course dinner, with paired wines.
The Adventurous, Travel-loving Mom
I highly recommend taking a wine tour, visiting some vineyards, or even just a tasting bar. It's the perfect way to take in beautiful views, learn about and drink some wines! If you don't have any wineries close-by (you should move) or you've been there/done that, why not take a scenic hike or have a wine-soaked picnic in the park.
The Artistic Mommy
It all depends exactly what your Mom is into, but there are so many fun ways to spend the day: you could get her tickets for a 'Paint Nite' event -- the locations usually offer wine! You could also make some pottery together, get tickets to a theatre or symphony performance, or check out local art galleries/museums!
Let's not forget a few of my other favourite moms:
